Guten Tag!
My name is Dr. Leichenberg and this is my Apothecary of Remedies! I have selected you, along with a few other apprentices to join me in an exciting new era of medical treatments. You will use a combination of state of the art medicine along with a few experimental treatments to help me figure out a cure for our patient. If it works, hazaa! We will be written about for eons to come. If we fail, no matter, this is the 1800s and anything goes! Will you join me as we make history in the medical field? *Dr. Leichenberg is not a real doctor and any medical claims and treatments should be considered with caution.
HOW TO PLAY
Each game starts with at least 3 Ailments
(This is what you are trying to cure your patient of)

Each player starts with 5 Treatment Cards
(This is what you are using to cure Ailments)

It's time to prepare the Treatment Area
(Don't forget to wash your hands)
Cure Tokens are
randomly drawn and placed on each open spot on the Treatment Boards

The LEFT columns are the Treatment Cards you need to play in order to earn the Cure Token in the bottom row of each Treatment Board.
Play Treatment Cards on the Treatment Boards that match the icons to the left of each board.
(Treatments can be played in ANY order)

The Cure Tokens on completed sequences can now be played on any
Ailments they may apply to.
Cure Tokens from completed Treatment Boards are moved to any matching Ailments to cure them.
(You're making progress Doc!)

When an Ailment gains all three matching Cure Tokens,
that Ailment is cured and removed from the play area.

Cure all Ailements in Play and win the game!
It's that easy...

Or is it?
(Ok, maybe there are a few caveats...)
To play a Treatment you must satisfy it's requirement first.
(You can't just go around dolling out Treatments willy-nilly now!)

Here are examples of some requirements you might run into...
(There are a total of 14!)

At the end of every round,
(When each player has completed their turn,)
Each Ailment in play has an End-of-Round action you must complete.

"At the end of every round, swap the lowest Side-Effect from any Ailment for the next highest number."

"Increase the point values of all
Ailments in play by ONE point
until this card is discarded."
Some Treatment Card requirements AND/OR End-of-round actions
(on Ailments) may add Side Effects to an Ailment.

Side Effects, a result of experimenting with different treatments, will affect your end-of-round scoring and your patients well being.

After end-of-round actions, it time to total up your patients damage.
(Experimenting with medicine is risky, try not to kill the patient ok?)

Your patient starts
here with
full health.
4 Points of damage added to the heath tracker.

The patient is now dead. You have failed. (This is bad, don't end up here, mkay?)

5 Points of damage
added to the health tracker

5 Points of damage
added to the health tracker

5 Points of damage
added to the health tracker
A total of 19 points would be deducted from the patients health tracker Moving their health from 100 to 81.

No worries though, there are only a couple of ways in which you can kill your patient.

1. If the patients health tracker reached ZERO, the patient has died, the game is over. (You should probably re-think your career path)

2. If any one Ailment receive SIX Side Effects, the patient has died.
(I mean, they can only handle so much)
3. If you run out of Side Effects (There is a limited number that get discarded after use) then the patient dies. (You really botched this one didn't you? That's ok, i'm sure there is a traveling circus you could join, get outta town, create a new name, fall in love with the elephant wrangler, forget this ever happened.)

Too easy for ya? Well ok Lord and Lady Fancypants! Good news, we have a mini expansion to make it a little more difficult for you!

PATIENT PROFILES
Patient Profiles assign specific Ailments to cure and include allergies and complications, making your job a little more challenging.
SPECIALTIES
Every player picks a specialty and chooses one benefit of that specialty to use once during the game.
